THE PROJECT
The Ledger
BRAND STRATEGY • VISUAL IDENTITY • WEBSITE DESIGN • ONGOING MARKETING • CREATIVE DIRECTION
The Business Challenge
When The Ledger opened in downtown Plymouth, Michigan, the vision was bigger than creating another place to dine. The goal was to establish a destination known for exceptional food, thoughtful hospitality, and memorable experiences.
As a new restaurant entering a competitive market, The Ledger needed a distinctive brand, a strong digital presence, and a marketing strategy that could attract guests, build loyalty, and support long-term growth.
Our Strategic Approach
Heylo partnered with The Ledger to build a recognizable brand and an ongoing marketing ecosystem that could evolve alongside the business.
We combined brand strategy, website design, creative direction, social media, email marketing, and strategic campaigns to create a consistent experience across every customer touchpoint.
Working closely with the ownership, culinary, and hospitality teams, we developed marketing that highlighted what makes The Ledger different while responding to real business priorities, from filling tables to expanding private dining and corporate events.
The Creative Solution
Our work began with a sophisticated visual identity inspired by the restaurant's historic bank setting and modern approach to dining.
From there, we brought the brand to life through website design, branded collateral, content creation, seasonal campaigns, and ongoing marketing leadership.
As the restaurant grew, our strategy evolved to support new menus, culinary experiences, private events, corporate dining, and the relationship between The Ledger and its sister concept, The Ebenezer.
Rather than treating each campaign as a standalone effort, we built a connected marketing approach designed to strengthen brand recognition, create demand, and encourage guests to return.
The Business Impact
Since opening, The Ledger has grown from $2 million in first-year revenue to $5 million, representing 150% growth.
Private dining and event bookings have expanded to include major organizations such as Delta Air Lines, the Detroit Lions, and global company Tenneco.
Beyond revenue, The Ledger has retained most of its original team, reflecting the strength of the hospitality culture behind the brand.
Through an ongoing partnership, Heylo continues to support The Ledger's marketing, creative direction, and business development initiatives as the restaurant grows.
The result is more than a successful restaurant launch. It's an established hospitality brand with the recognition, relationships, and foundation to keep growing.
